Ameritas Changes Effective March 22, 2021
Effective March 22, 2021, Ameritas is making product and underwriting changes to General Dentists, 4M on individual disability insurance policies.
- Maximum Issue Limits (Base + Future Increase Option Rider) coverage will be $10,000 maximum for individual disability insurance.
- Discounts will no longer be available on newly written individual disability income or Business Overhead Expense policies. This applies to the following discounts:

- Fully Underwritten Multi-Life
- Association Marketing
- Medical and Dental Intern, Residents and Fellows
- Double Annual Premium

Note, policies issued with a Future Increase Option rider prior to March 22nd, will maintain the discount attached to the policy at the time of issue. Also, GSI discounts remain unchanged at this time.
In order to receive current limits and discounting, you will need to submit an application no later than close of business on March 22, 2021. Any applications received after March 22, 2021 will reflect the above guidelines.
Guardian Changes Effective as of February 20, 2021
FIO no longer available to Occupation Class 4D – Endodontists, Oral Surgeons, Orthodontists, Pediatric Dentists, Periodontists & Prosthodontists. All dental specialties with a 3D or 4D occupation class will have the Benefit Purchase Rider (BPR) as the only increase option available for the Provider Choice Product.
